The panel will discuss approaches to addressing today’s challenges in delivering educational content and other digital services for K-12 students throughout Oregon—particularly around broadband connectivity made even more dire during the pandemic. As a non-profit partnership and network provider, Link Oregon brings together key experts shaping the state education technology landscape to articulate how their organizations are working together to identify needs and develop responses to extend services equitably to all Oregon communities. We will discuss the outlook for ensuring better broadband connectivity for urban, rural, and Tribal K-12 schools, particularly with significant infrastructure funding that will soon be available through federal and state programs. We will touch on the critical role that K-12 institutions and public libraries play in their communities and how to address the needs of students, faculty, staff, and the community as a whole in remote learning as well as telehealth, resilience, and sustainability.
